The 50 Letter Project

Creating a world without gender discrimination

Our Vision

To send us your letter without using email you will need to click on the following link, which you can send to other people who you feel may be interested. We have made it so your personal information stays private to you. The only thing we ask is your age so we can highlight that this is a problem girls and women face however we want you to feel safe so please don’t share if it makes you uncomfortable.

We will be handwriting the letters as to highlight that every single letter comes from a real person with a real story. We will also not be changing anything about the letters, if that’s language or spelling errors and any other thing that may present itself.

This is a project created to help shed a light on misogyny and harassment in the modern day. At school, girls are always told to be careful when playing sport and the boys are always asked to carry the benches and stacks of chairs. Although these things may seem minor, they contribute heavily to the stereotypes of what is feminine and what is masculine. These stereotypes must stop as it can lead boys to grow up thinking they are better than girls, and girls growing up to believe boys will always be higher than them. This is reflected in the workplace with senior roles being often taken up by men, giving them more respect from their peers, leaving the lower paying jobs to the women.
